Land Use

The Firewalker 4x4 Club is dedicated to the preservation of its surrounding lands and environment.  Whether it is the land that we ride on at various organized and sponsored events, public and/or private land that we have access to for our club trail rides, or the back yards in the communities that the Firewalker members call home sweet home.  Words such as conscientious and responsible off road use, is language that all Firewalkers use, to educate people who are not familiar with the thrill and excitement of driving a Jeep off the pavement of today’s roads and busy highways, to access additional picturesque views, such as the following.

The foundation of the Firewalker’s dedication to preserving our land and environment comes from the spirit of its founding fathers, local firefighters from the Village of Gurnee, Illinois.  Men who put their lives on the line every day to preserve the environment of the local community when there is a house fire, a car crash or still today a brush fire in the local forest preserve.  It was the vision of these firefighters to combine the preservation of land and life, with the fun and excitement of driving off where the pavement ends, and start the Firewalker 4x4 Club. Today that spirit is carried on by Firewalker members from all walks of life, who seek to be conscientious and responsible off-road enthusiasts, while seeking out, off-road adventures from coast to coast of the United States and Canada.

The Firewalker 4x4 Club proudly partakes in membership of the Illinois Four Wheel Drive Association, Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association, United Four Wheel Drive Association and the Blue Ribbon Coalition in its on going endeavor to pursue the conscientious and responsible off-road enthusiasm of driving a Jeep out in the great land beyond where the pavement ends!
